Hiking Ziarska valley, Western Tatras
Smrecany village is a gate to the Western Tatras through Ziarska valley.
The Rohace mountain ridge is the most famous and the most visited part of Western Tatras. You can enjoy a view to the valley from Baranec, Ostry Rohac, Banikov or Tri kopy mountains.

Baníkov 2178 m.a.s.l.
Banikov is the highest mountain on the main ridge of the Western Tatras - Rohace. Proudly rises above Žiarska, Roháčska, Bobrovecká and Jalovská valley. Baníkov name is derived from mining, after which traces still remain in the form of a mine at the mouth Žiarska valley. Access from Ziarska Valley is possible in two directions.
